What to eat to reduce kidney stones?

I've suffered from kidney stones multiple times, and the pain is just horrible. I'm trying to be very careful with what I eat and drink to prevent them from recurring. Are there specific foods I should consume to help reduce kidney stones?

To reduce kidney stones, hydration is paramount, especially if you work out. I always carry a water bottle. Diet-wise, cut down on high-oxalate foods like spinach and chocolate if your stones are calcium oxalate. Citrus fruits, especially lemon water, are great. And watch your sodium intake, it's often hidden.

Reducing kidney stones requires specific dietary adjustments based on the type of stone you have. Generally, increasing fluid intake, especially water and lemon water, and moderating sodium and animal protein is advised. However, a detailed discussion with a nephrologist and a renal dietitian is essential for a tailored plan. Self-treating can be counterproductive.

Oh god, please don't be like me and ignore kidney stone symptoms. It was one of the worst pains ever. The best thing you can eat is whatever your doctor tells you after checking your stone type. General advice is lots of water, less salt, and maybe less oxalate-rich foods, but a proper checkup is crucial.

For reducing kidney stones, the main thing is very high fluid intake, especially plain water. If your stones are calcium oxalate, you might need to limit high-oxalate foods like spinach, nuts, and chocolate. Also, watch your calcium intake; it's not always about cutting it completely. Your doctor might recommend specific measures based on your reports.

As someone managing high BP, I'm always advised to keep my sodium intake low, and that's also good for kidney stones. Lots of water, less processed food, and regular checkups are essential. What you eat impacts everything, so be mindful. And don't forget your medicines if prescribed.

Having PCOS, I know how sensitive our bodies can be to diet changes. For kidney stones, the key is knowing the type of stone first. Then a doctor or a dietitian can guide you on what to reduce – maybe oxalate, maybe sodium. Don't just blindly follow internet lists, please get professional medical advice.
