What to do while having a heart attack?

My neighbour suffered a heart attack recently, and it made me realise how important it is to know what to do. What are the critical first aid steps one should take while having a heart attack, or assisting someone who is?

Ho na, a heart attack is very serious. If you feel symptoms, immediately call for emergency help, like 102 or 108. Don't try to drive yourself. Sit or lie down in a comfortable position and loosen any tight clothing. Aspirin can help if you're not allergic and your doctor recommended it for emergencies, but first, get help.

For serious things like this, no home remedy will work. You must call for an ambulance or get to a hospital quickly. Forget everything else. Life is precious. Get medical help immediately.

This is a medical emergency where diet advice is not relevant. If you or someone you know is having a heart attack, the only thing to do is to get immediate medical attention. Call for an ambulance without any delay. Every second counts.

If you suspect a heart attack, activate emergency services on your phone (most modern phones have a quick SOS feature) or call 102/108 right away. If you have a smartwatch that tracks heart rate, it might be useful info for paramedics. Don't exert yourself, just focus on breathing and getting help. Time is critical.

My doctor always emphasizes that during a suspected heart attack, the first and most crucial step is to call for emergency medical help immediately. Do not delay. Chew an aspirin (if not allergic and prescribed by your doctor for emergencies) while waiting for the ambulance, but primarily, get to a hospital ASAP. Every minute matters for saving heart muscle.

Oh my god, this is scary to even think about! If you're having symptoms, don't try to be brave or anything, just call for help right away. Scream for your family or call an ambulance. Seriously, don't stress about anything else, just get medical attention. Hugs!
