What to do if you have asthma and can't breathe?

I've had asthma since childhood, but usually, my inhaler helps. Sometimes though, I get an attack where I just can't catch my breath, and it's really scary. What are some immediate steps to take when you have asthma and feel like you can't breathe?

When breathing becomes difficult, the most important is to stay calm, even if it feels impossible. Sit upright, don't lie down. Try some conscious, slow breathing if you can manage. Focus on extending your exhale. But if it's severe, don't delay reaching for your emergency inhaler or getting help.

This is a serious situation. For any severe breathing issue like this, your first step should always be to use your rescue inhaler if you have one. If that doesn't help or you don't have it, immediate medical attention is necessary. No food or drink advice can help here, it's about getting oxygen.

Been there, felt that panic. First, sit upright, leaning forward slightly helps. Try to stay calm, panic just makes it worse. Use your quick-relief inhaler right away. If you don't have one or it's not working, someone needs to call for an ambulance immediately. Don't delay.

Oh no, that sounds super scary! 😟 First things first, try to sit up straight and keep calm. Use your inhaler if you have it! If not, or if it doesn't help, definitely get someone to call an ambulance for you ASAP! Sending good vibes! ✨

Beta, when the breath stops, everything else stops. You must act fast. My nani used to say to hold some hot water steam, but that's for mild congestion. For asthma, you must use your pump (inhaler) and if it's severe, then call the doctor or ambulance quickly. Don't take risks.

When you literally can't breathe, this is not the time for internet tips or home remedies. This is an emergency. Use your prescribed inhaler. If that doesn't work or you don't have one, call for an ambulance immediately. Go to the hospital, period.
