Ayyoo, severe period pain is the worst, ho na? It's not normal to suffer so much. A hot water bag on the tummy is a must. And maybe some ginger tea, it helps calm the cramps a little. But if it's really severe and making you unable to do anything, then you must consult a gynaecologist. Haan na, don't ignore it, it can be a sign of something else.

My gynaecologist emphasized that severe menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) that interferes with daily life isn't 'normal.' She recommended trying NSAIDs like ibuprofen if tolerated, using a heating pad, and gentle exercise. However, she also stressed the importance of ruling out underlying conditions like endometriosis or fibroids through proper examination and possibly imaging. It's crucial to seek medical evaluation.

Severe menstrual pain sounds incredibly tough to deal with. I sometimes see my girlfriend struggling, and it looks horrible. Is it true that some pain is normal but *severe* pain means there might be something else going on? How do you know when it's crossed that line and absolutely needs a doctor? I always worry about these things.

Oh beti, when period pain is very bad, it is truly suffering. First, take rest, okay? Put a warm cloth or hot water bottle on your પેટ (stomach). Some warm water with a little ajwain also helps many. But if you feel very weak or the pain doesn't go, please show a doctor in the city. They know better what to do for such big pain.

Beta, severe period pain is not something to just bear. Our elders used to give warm concoctions of ajwain and jaggery, or ginger tea. A hot water bottle is a must for comfort. But if it's very severe, it's important to consult a lady doctor. Sometimes, there can be other issues that need medical attention, so don't delay.
