What to do before diabetes test?

My doctor asked me to get a diabetes test done soon because of my family history. Is there anything specific I need to do or avoid before going for the test, like fasting or anything? I want to make sure the results are accurate.

Before my last test, I made sure I was doing my usual morning walk and ate light dinner the night before. No heavy carbs ya junk food. Just maintain your routine, don't try to change anything drastically last minute, that won't give a true picture.

Most important is fasting for the specified hours, usually 8-12. If your doc is okay with it, a gentle walk in the morning can be good, but don't overdo it. Hydrate well too, only water during fast.

Haha, before my test I just tried not to panic and eat a whole cake! Seriously though, just follow what the lab or doctor told you, mostly it's just fasting. No midnight snacks allowed, sorry! All the best!

Please make sure you follow the exact fasting instructions your doctor gave. I once made a mistake of drinking tea and it messed up my results. Better to confirm everything with your doctor or the lab people only. Don't take any chances.

Honestly, when I went for my check-up, I just did what the lab assistant told me on the phone. They said just come fasting. So I didn't eat anything after 8 pm the night before. Worked out fine for me.

Usually, it's an overnight fast, meaning no food or sugary drinks after dinner for 8-12 hours before the blood test. You can have plain water. If you're on any medication, ask your doctor if you should take it before the test.

Haan na, just follow the fasting instructions properly. Mostly 8-10 hours ka fast hota hai. No tea, no coffee, only plain water is allowed. Thoda jaldi so jaao raat ko so subah uth ke time pe test ho jaayega, ho na.
