What to do after passing a kidney stone?

I passed a kidney stone yesterday, and it was a very painful experience. The doctor gave me some pain medication, but I'm worried about it happening again. What should I do going forward to prevent this and to recover fully?

Hey, congrats on passing it, that's a huge relief! Now, super important to stay hydrated. Maybe track your water intake with an app? Also, try to understand what type of stone it was from your doctor; it helps prevent future ones. Good luck!

Oh, I know that feeling! It's a huge relief. The main thing is to keep drinking lots of water, seriously. And don't skip your follow-up with the urologist, they'll check if anything is still there and give you specific diet advice based on the stone type. Also, try to get enough rest for a few days.

Achha hua ki nikal gaya! For now, just focus on keeping your system flushed with plenty of water. You can also try some nimbu paani or coconut water, it helps. But definitely show the stone to your doctor if you saved it, and get their advice for preventing more. If you feel any new pain, go see the doc immediately.

That's great news that it passed! Now, the main goal is prevention. Your doc will probably ask for a urine sample to see if there are any signs of infection, and they might want to analyze the stone itself. Don't forget to take any meds they've given for pain or infection, and keep sipping water throughout the day, not just chugging it all at once.

Such a challenging experience, I hope you are feeling better now. Post-stone, gentle movements and staying calm are key. Perhaps some light pranayama to help your body recover and reduce stress. And most importantly, hydrate with warm water and listen to your doctor's advice for long-term well-being.
