What time should kids go to sleep?

My kids, a 7-year-old and a 4-year-old, are often up quite late and then struggle to wake up for school. I want to set a proper bedtime for them. What time should kids generally go to sleep?

Yaar, actually it depends on their age group na. Toddlers need much more sleep than older kids. But generally, by 8-9 PM is good for school-going kids to get enough rest. My son goes by 8:30 PM.

It varies by age, but consistency is key for kids. A bedtime between 7 PM and 9 PM is common for most school-aged children, ensuring they get sufficient hours.

This is something I always worry about too! I try to put my 5-year-old to bed by 8 PM, but sometimes it feels like she's the only one going to sleep so early. Do other parents also struggle with getting kids to bed on time?

For optimal development, children need a good 9-11 hours of sleep. School-going kids should ideally be in bed by 8:30 PM latest to ensure they wake up fresh for school. Consistency is more important than the exact time.

It's completely normal to think about this for your kids! I remember being so anxious about my own sleep. For kids, generally, by 8-9 PM is a good target. Just focus on a consistent routine rather than a rigid minute-by-minute schedule. They thrive on routine.

For children, especially important for their growth and concentration, an early and consistent bedtime is crucial. Finishing dinner earlier, with less sugar, and then allowing enough time before sleep helps. Many sources suggest 7:30-8:30 PM depending on age for school kids.

Hey! Don't stress too much about getting the perfect time. Just make sure they're getting enough hours, usually 9-12 for younger kids and 8-10 for pre-teens. A regular bedtime routine around 8-9 PM works well for most school-aged children.
