What system does diabetes affect?

My mother has had diabetes for many years, and lately, she's been having problems with her eyes and feet. It makes me wonder, what system does diabetes affect in the body beyond just blood sugar?

Diabetes is a metabolic disorder, meaning it affects how your body processes energy (glucose). But over time, if uncontrolled, it can impact almost every major system! Your cardiovascular system (heart attacks/strokes), nervous system (neuropathy), kidneys, eyes (retinopathy), and even your immune system can be severely affected. Tracking your glucose and activity helps a lot.

Diabetes, if not managed properly, can harm many parts of your body. It primarily affects the metabolic system, but then it impacts the cardiovascular system, nervous system, kidneys, and eyes. Basically, it can damage anything that relies on proper blood flow and nerve function. Simple changes like diet and walking can help a lot.

It's so worrying how many systems diabetes can affect, isn't it? I've heard it can hit your eyes, kidneys, and even nerves in your feet. Has anyone here experienced these complications, and how did you manage the anxiety around it? It feels like a silent threat to so many parts of the body.

Yaar, diabetes is not just about sugar, it actually messes with almost everything in your body if it's not controlled. Like, it affects your heart, kidneys, eyes, nerves... basically, the whole circulatory system gets impacted. So it's super important to manage it properly, na?

My granddad has diabetes, and it affects his eyes, like he has vision problems. Also, his feet sometimes get numb, so that's the nervous system right? Plus, heart issues are common with it too. So yeah, pretty much a lot of systems, man, not just blood sugar.
