What supplements are good for thyroid?

I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism a few months back, and I'm on medication. I was wondering if any specific supplements could support thyroid function or help with the symptoms. What supplements are good for thyroid?

Hey yaar! Honestly, supplements can be tricky with thyroid. My doc always says to focus on a good diet first. Things like selenium and zinc are important, but usually you get enough from food. Don't stress too much about adding extra stuff without checking with your doctor first, okay?

Namaste. While supplements might help some, I've found a gentle approach works best for my thyroid. Regular pranayama, especially Ujjayi breath, and a diet rich in whole foods, helps a lot. It balances the body from within. Talk to an Ayurvedic doctor also, they have good natural remedies.

Please, please, do not self-medicate with supplements for thyroid. It's a very delicate balance. Your doctor needs to check your specific thyroid levels and then recommend what, if anything, you need. What works for one person might be harmful for another. Get it checked for safety, always.

Totally agree with the others, consult a doc. But generally, iodine is super important for thyroid function, just make sure you're getting the right amount, not too much. Seaweed is a good source.

Uff, thyroid is such a drama queen, always needing special attention! Honestly, the best 'supplement' is a good endocrinologist. They'll tell you exactly what your thyroid needs, instead of us playing guessing games with fancy pills. Let the experts handle the diva, you just follow instructions, haha!
