What stage of liver disease is itching?

My uncle has chronic liver disease, and he's been scratching himself constantly lately. Could this intense itching be related to his liver condition? At what stage of liver disease does itching become prominent?

I am barely awake, but I know that constant itching from liver issues is a nightmare. It can actually happen at any stage, but it is very common in advanced stages like cirrhosis due to bile salt buildup. Go see a doctor so you can finally get some sleep without scratching.

Oh god, itching would make me so anxious and worried about liver failure. But from what I read, it can happen in early biliary liver issues or later stages too, so it's not a direct indicator of the worst-case scenario. Please get a liver function test done to find out what's really happening.

Severe itching is a known symptom of liver issues, often due to bile buildup, and can occur in both early and advanced stages. Please take care and visit a doctor who can prescribe the right medication to give you some relief.

I dealt with this intense itching during my liver treatment. It can occur in early stages of bile duct blockages or late-stage cirrhosis. My advice is to keep your skin moisturized and avoid hot showers, but most importantly, get your bile acid levels checked by your doctor.

My mom had this terrible itching, and we found out it was linked to her liver. It can happen in early stages if there is a bile flow issue, or in later stages of cirrhosis. Try using a cold compress for temporary relief, but definitely get a doctor to check her liver enzymes.

Please be very careful with liver-related itching, as neglecting it can lead to complications. It can be a sign of advanced liver cirrhosis or bile duct obstruction. You must consult a gastroenterologist immediately to get a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.

Just like keeping an eye on my blood pressure, monitoring liver health through regular blood checkups is essential. Itching can happen in various stages of liver disease when bile salts accumulate. Please get a proper liver panel done to understand the exact stage and stay on top of your health.

Itching can happen at almost any stage of liver disease, especially when the liver can't process bile properly. Just like I manage my thyroid with regular blood tests, liver health needs consistent follow-ups. Please see your doctor for a proper liver function test.
