What sleep cycle do you dream in?

Sometimes I remember my dreams so clearly, and other times nothing. My friend told me it depends on when you wake up. Just curious, which part of the sleep cycle is when we actually dream?

Achha, dreams! We usually dream most vividly during the REM (Rapid Eye Movement) stage of sleep. That's when your brain activity is high, almost like you're awake. If you wake up during or right after REM, you'll remember your dreams more clearly. Maintaining a regular sleep schedule helps get enough REM sleep.

You typically dream during the REM (Rapid Eye Movement) stage of sleep. We go through several cycles of REM and non-REM sleep throughout the night, with REM periods getting longer towards the morning. That's why you often remember dreams when waking up from a longer sleep.

Well, studies say most dreams occur during REM sleep. I've noticed when I eat lighter, plant-based dinners, I sleep much better and remember my dreams more often. Heavy, oily foods before bed can disrupt sleep cycles, and might affect dream recall.

Oh, dreams are fascinating! Most of our vivid dreaming happens during the REM stage. I find that when I make sure to get a good 7-8 hours of sleep, I remember my dreams much more clearly. Sometimes a warm glass of milk before bed helps me get into deeper sleep quicker, leading to more dreams, I think!

My sleep tracker app shows that I spend most of my dream time (which is the REM stage) in the later part of my sleep cycle. It usually starts about 90 minutes after you fall asleep and gets longer as the night goes on. Pretty cool how technology can show you this!

Dreams primarily occur during the REM (Rapid Eye Movement) stage of your sleep cycle. We cycle through various stages of sleep multiple times a night. To optimize for better dream recall or just better sleep quality, consistent sleep and wake times are key, even on weekends.
