What side is better to sleep on when pregnant?

I'm pregnant and finding it hard to get comfortable at night. All my friends are telling me to sleep on my left side, but I sometimes find myself on my right. Is there a definitive answer to which side is better to sleep on when pregnant?

When my sister was pregnant, her doctor strongly recommended sleeping on the left side to keep the blood flowing smoothly to the baby. She used to stack pillows behind her back so she wouldn't roll over in her sleep. It really made a big difference for her comfort!

Haan na, left side is definitely considered the best during pregnancy. It keeps the pressure off the large blood vessels, which is great for the baby. Just use a soft pillow under your belly for support and you will sleep much better.

Don't stress yourself too much about sleeping perfectly on one side. The left side is ideal because it helps with circulation, but if you wake up on your right side, it is perfectly fine. Just gently roll back to the left and rest well.

My mother told me to only sleep on the left, but I made sure to ask my doctor as well. She explained that left-side sleeping is best for optimal blood flow, but reassured me that turning to the right occasionally is also absolutely fine. Take care and stay comfortable!

From what I have learned while researching pregnancy with hormonal issues, the left side is highly recommended to improve blood and nutrient flow. However, every body is unique, so please make sure to discuss your sleeping positions with your doctor during your regular visits.

Sleeping on the left side is great for digestion, which can get really slow during pregnancy. Try to eat light, plant-based meals at least two hours before bed so you don't face bloating or reflux while trying to sleep on your side.
