What side goes numb during a heart attack?

My neighbour was telling me about her husband's heart attack, and she mentioned his arm went numb. I'm trying to remember which side she said. What side of the body typically goes numb during a heart attack?

Usually, people experience numbness or tingling in the left arm, shoulder, or hand during a heart attack, but it can sometimes affect both sides or even the jaw. When my father had a similar scare, we took him straight to Medanta. You should ask your doctor clearly and get an ECG done immediately.

At fifty-five, any time my left arm goes numb because I slept on it wrong, I start counting my breaths! But seriously, sudden numbness in the left arm, especially with chest tightness, is a classic warning sign. Don't take chances, get yourself checked at a clinic right away.

Numbness during a cardiac event typically affects the left side, particularly the left arm, neck, and jaw. I monitor my heart rate variability on my smartwatch, but a tracker cannot diagnose a heart attack. If you feel sudden left-sided numbness and chest pressure, seek emergency medical care immediately.

Do not rely on online guides saying only the left arm goes numb; sometimes the numbness can spread to both arms or the jaw. Internet remedies won't save a life here. If there is sudden unexplained numbness in your upper body accompanied by chest pain, go verify it with a doctor at an emergency room.

I just recovered from an angioplasty last month. During my attack, my left shoulder and arm felt a heavy numbness that I had never experienced before, along with severe chest squeezing. If you are experiencing this fresh numbness, please don't wait for it to go away. Go to the hospital immediately.

Time is absolutely critical in these situations. Sudden numbness usually occurs in the left arm, shoulder, or jaw during a heart attack. Don't waste precious hours searching on the web or waiting to see if it improves. Go straight to the nearest hospital casualty department.

When my husband had his heart episode, his left arm and shoulder went completely numb, along with heavy sweating. It is a critical warning sign that you should never ignore. Keep aspirin at home and call an ambulance immediately if you or someone else feels this numbness with chest pressure.
