What shoulder is heart attack pain?

I keep hearing about shoulder pain as a symptom of a heart attack, but I'm not sure which side it usually affects. Is the pain generally on the left shoulder, or can it be on the right side too? Just trying to understand the signs better.

I am trying to learn more about first aid, and I read that it is usually the left shoulder that hurts. Does the pain start in the chest first and then move to the shoulder, or can it start directly in the arm?

The doctors at our hospital always emphasize that left shoulder pain is a classic sign, but it can sometimes present in the right shoulder too. If you are experiencing sudden, severe pain that radiates from your chest, please go straight to a hospital and ask the emergency doctor to evaluate it.

Usually, heart attack pain is felt in the left shoulder. Gym goers often confuse it with a rotator cuff strain, but cardiac pain doesn't change when you move the joint. If you feel sudden pressure or shortness of breath alongside the pain, stop everything and see a doctor.

It is typically the left shoulder. While I mostly advocate for managing regular thyroid tests, cardiac health is something you cannot delay. If you have severe shoulder pain with breathing issues, please go to a doctor immediately.

While people online will tell you it's always the left shoulder, you shouldn't rely on internet theories during a potential emergency. Severe pain in either shoulder accompanied by sweating or chest pain is a red flag. Skip the forums and get an immediate medical checkup.

Honestly, after pulling an all-nighter, my entire left side hurts from bad posture, which always makes me panic! But seriously, left shoulder pain is the one they tell you to watch out for. If it is accompanied by chest tightness, don't sit around, go to a clinic.

In most cases, it is the left shoulder and arm, but cardiac pain can be very tricky and show up in the back or jaw too. Please do not take any sudden, radiating upper body pain lightly. Always err on the side of caution and get professional medical help.
