What should you not eat if you have eczema?

My little one, Riya, has eczema and the doctor said we need to watch her diet. I'm so confused about what foods might trigger it or make it worse. Can anyone share some common things to avoid?

I can only speak from my own journey, but cutting down on dairy and gluten made a big difference for my skin flare-ups. Oily junk food also seemed to make the itching worse. Try keeping a food diary to see what triggers your eczema.

Haan na, skin issues are so irritating and painful. Many people face flare-ups after eating peanuts, eggs, or too much spicy food. Try avoiding these for a few days and see if your itching reduces.

I deal with inflammatory skin flare-ups due to PCOS, and reducing refined sugar and processed foods really helped calm my body down. Eczema is highly personal, though, so please don't restrict your diet too much without expert advice. It is best to be cautious.

Avoiding excessive sugar, preservatives, and deep-fried foods is generally good for reducing inflammation. Alongside a clean diet, keeping your circulation good with moderate exercise like daily brisk walks can help your skin health, provided your doctor is fine with it.

I once ignored my skin allergies, thinking it was just dry skin, and it became a massive infection. Don't just rely on cutting out foods like dairy or nuts based on internet advice. Go to a good dermatologist and get a proper patch test done.

I was researching eczema triggers online and found that citrus fruits, soy, and tomatoes can also cause flare-ups in some people. It seems so complicated because what triggers one person might be totally fine for another. Has anyone tried an elimination diet?

In my experience helping people in these forums, staying away from packed foods with artificial colors and high sodium is very helpful. Drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated from within, and always use a mild soap.
