What should a newborn wear to sleep?

My sister just had a baby, and she's asking me about what the baby should wear for sleeping. We live in a warm climate, so what's the best clothing for a newborn to sleep in? Don't want the baby to be uncomfortable.

This question makes me anxious because I always worry about my baby being too hot or cold! Does anyone else constantly check their baby's temperature? I'm never sure if I'm dressing them right for sleep.

Oh, this was something I obsessed over as a new mom! I spent so much time researching safe sleepwear. It really depends on your room temperature, but generally, a breathable cotton sleepsuit or a onesie with a swaddle/sleep sack is a safe bet. Always feel the back of their neck to check for overheating.

Natural fabrics like soft cotton are always best for a baby's delicate skin, especially for sleep. A simple cotton full-sleeved onesie should be enough in most Indian weather, maybe add a thin blanket if it's cooler. But if your baby seems too hot or cold, or unwell, definitely consult the paediatrician.

Just stick to basics. A breathable cotton onesie or a sleep sack, depending on the room temp. No loose blankets. Simplicity is key for safe sleep. Check their neck for sweat or coldness, that's your best indicator.

Beta, for a newborn, just a soft cotton langot and a light shirt, or a simple onesie is good. In winter, maybe a small, thin warm cloth. Do not put too many clothes, they can get too hot. Always use soft cloth, like mulmul.
