What's the difference between carpal tunnel and arthritis?

My hands have been hurting a lot lately, especially my wrists. My daughter thinks it might be carpal tunnel, but my mother used to complain about arthritis. Are these the same kind of pain or different issues? What's the difference between carpal tunnel and arthritis?

Carpal tunnel is nerve compression, arthritis is joint inflammation. Different causes, different treatments.

I once thought my hand numbness was arthritis, but my doctor diagnosed carpal tunnel syndrome after some tests. Arthritis feels more like a dull ache or stiffness in the joint itself, especially in the mornings. Carpal tunnel had specific tingling and numbness in my fingers. So from my experience, the symptoms are different, even if the location is similar.

I ignored my wrist pain for too long, thinking it was just minor strain, and it only got worse. Carpal tunnel is a nerve issue where it gets compressed in your wrist, leading to numbness and weakness. Arthritis is joint inflammation. These are very different, and getting a proper diagnosis early on is crucial to prevent long-term complications. Please see a doctor.

Oh, I totally understand the confusion, both can cause wrist pain! Carpal tunnel is when a nerve in your wrist gets squeezed, causing numbness and tingling, often from repetitive motion. Arthritis is inflammation of the joints themselves. I tried so many wrist exercises and warm compresses for my pain, but it's important to know which one it is for actual relief. See a doctor if it's persistent.

Okay, so carpal tunnel is about nerve compression in your wrist, usually causing tingling, numbness, and sometimes pain. It's a neurological issue. Arthritis is inflammatory joint disease, affecting the bones and cartilage directly. Two completely different medical conditions, though they can both cause hand/wrist discomfort. You need a doctor to diagnose which one it is.

Haan, dono mein confusion ho jaati hai kyunki haath mein pain hota hai na. Carpal tunnel mein nerve compress hoti hai, toh tingling aur numbness feel hota hai. Arthritis mein joints mein inflammation hota hai, swelling aur stiffness. Toh root cause alag hai, treatment bhi alag hoga.
