What psa level indicates cancer?

My father recently had a PSA test, and we're waiting for the results. We're a bit worried. What PSA level is generally considered indicative of cancer?

While my health tracker helps with general wellness, PSA levels are something definitely to be discussed with a urologist. A single high PSA reading doesn't automatically mean cancer; it could be other things like BPH or infection. They look at the trend, PSA velocity, and free PSA percentage. Always follow a doctor's advice on this.

A high PSA level is a signal to investigate further, not an automatic cancer diagnosis. It's like with my BP; a single high reading means re-check, lifestyle changes, and then maybe medication. For PSA, follow up with your doctor, do the necessary tests like DRE and possibly a biopsy if recommended. Regular checkups are important, especially as we age.

Ha ha, agar PSA level itna simple hota toh doctor ka kaam hi khatam ho jaata! Seriously though, it's not a direct 'this number equals cancer' thing. A high level means you need more tests, like a detective trying to find clues. Don't panic, but don't ignore it either!

Beta, yeh sab khoon ki jaanch ke numbers seedhe-seedhe kuch nahi batate. Doctor ko dikhana chahiye. Humare zamane mein toh log vaidh ke paas jaate the. Ab toh test se pata chalta hai. Agar kuch gadbad lage toh upar wale pe bharosa rakhna aur doctor ki baat sunna.

Generally, doctors say anything above 4 ng/mL can be a concern, but it's not a definitive diagnosis. More tests might be needed, which can add up in cost, so discuss with your doctor about necessary follow-ups and what insurance covers. Don't just jump to conclusions, but don't delay the required investigations either.
