What percentage of the population has diabetes?

My father has diabetes, and many people in my family also have it. It feels like almost everyone I know has someone with diabetes. I was curious, what percentage of the population is affected by it?

With our busy work schedules, it's easy to neglect health, which contributes to high diabetes rates. My realistic advice is to dedicate at least 30 mins a day to some activity and be mindful of your tiffin choices. Small, consistent efforts make a difference.

Beta, the numbers are indeed significant, especially in India. But it's not a death sentence. Many people manage it very well with lifestyle changes and medication. The key is early detection and consistent care. Don't panic, just be proactive.

Hey, don't stress too much if you're asking for yourself! It's super common, but also manageable if you take care. Many people live full lives with it. Just focus on healthy eating and exercise.

For diabetes, what you eat is paramount. A lot of traditional Indian food can be high in carbs and sugars. I always advise focusing on whole grains, fresh vegetables, and controlling portion sizes. It's not just about avoiding sugar, but balancing your entire diet.

It feels like everyone's dad or uncle has it these days. My dad got it a few years back, and it changed how we eat at home. It's a pretty high number, I think.

It's quite high, and it's scary how many young people are getting it too. I try to be mindful of what I eat and stay active, because honestly, I don't want to deal with it later. Prevention is definitely better!

Just like with thyroid problems, early detection through regular tests is vital for diabetes. Don't self-diagnose based on symptoms. A doctor's diagnosis and consistent follow-up are the only way to manage such chronic conditions effectively.

Diabetes, high BP, these lifestyle diseases are interconnected. It's a growing concern. Regular checkups are crucial, and adopting a disciplined lifestyle with balanced diet and exercise can prevent or manage both. Don't ignore the early signs.

I can't tell you percentages, but I know personally many people in my family and friends circle who have diabetes. It's definitely something that requires strict discipline with diet and lifestyle. Everyone's journey is different.

When my sugar levels were borderline, I totally panicked, thinking the worst. But my doctor said many people have it and live normal lives with proper management. So, don't worry too much, just get checked and follow advice, it's quite common.
