What percentage of sleep should be deep?

I'm really trying to prioritize my sleep lately, and I've heard about the different stages of sleep. I'm curious about deep sleep. What percentage of sleep should ideally be deep sleep for good rest?

Honestly, I used to stress so much about this! My smart band would show low deep sleep and I'd be convinced I wasn't getting good rest. But then I read that it naturally varies a lot, and as long as you wake up feeling refreshed, don't worry too much about the exact percentage.

Beta, these days everyone tracks everything! In our time, we just slept till we felt good. Don't get too caught up in numbers. If you're waking up fresh and energetic, that's what matters. Your body knows what it needs.

From what I've seen on my Fitbit and Apple Watch, deep sleep usually makes up about 13-23% of your total sleep. It can change night to night depending on your activity level and stress. Many apps give you a good breakdown, which helps understand your patterns.

The ideal range for deep sleep is usually 15-25% for adults, but honestly, it's more about quality. Focus on consistent sleep timings, a dark room, and avoiding screens before bed. These things actually help more than just chasing a number.

Haan, sometimes after a super heavy biryani dinner, my deep sleep goes down! Lol. But generally, if I eat light and have some warm milk before bed, I feel much better. Maybe food also plays a role in how deep you sleep, who knows!
