What percentage of breast calcifications are cancer?

During a routine check-up, my doctor mentioned some calcifications in my breast on the mammogram. She said they're usually benign, but I'm still a bit concerned. What percentage of breast calcifications are found to be cancerous?

Dekho, calcifications sunke hi log dar jaate hain, but zyadatar benign hote hain. Only a small percentage turn out to be cancerous, especially if they are macrocalcifications. Microcalcifications are the ones they watch more closely. Get it checked by a good doc.

Yaar, actually calcifications are super common. My cousin had them and doc said most are benign. It's only when they look 'suspicious' on mammogram that they become a concern, but even then, it's not always cancer, just needs more checking.

Don't jump to conclusions. Calcifications are very common, and most of them are not cancer. It's a finding that needs to be evaluated, but often it turns out to be nothing to worry about. Stay calm.

Any calcification needs to be thoroughly investigated. While many are harmless, you can't take chances with breast health. Always, always get a second opinion if you're unsure, and ensure regular follow-ups. Safety first!

I had calcifications too, and the emotional toll while waiting for answers was immense. It's really tough. But doctors usually say most of them are not cancer. It's okay to feel scared, but try to stay hopeful.

I was just reading about this! Seems like only a small portion, maybe 10-20% of calcifications, are actually cancerous, especially if they are microcalcifications with a suspicious pattern. Otherwise, macrocalcifications are almost always harmless. Interesting stuff.

You really need to discuss this with your radiologist or breast specialist. The type and pattern of calcifications matter a lot. General percentages can be misleading. A good hospital will give you a detailed explanation and a clear plan.

My neighbour had this issue. Her doctor said many calcifications are just normal changes in the breast. The important thing is to monitor them. So, don't ignore doctor appointments for follow-ups and further imaging if recommended. Simple solution, no stress.

Relax, my dear. Breast calcifications are found in many women, and most are not cancerous. It's just something they monitor. Your doctor will guide you if they see anything concerning. Don't worry unnecessarily.

Generally, the vast majority of breast calcifications are benign. Only a small percentage, like 10-20% of those needing further workup, might be cancerous. It really depends on the type and pattern seen on imaging. Your doctor will clarify.

When my sister had this, we completely panicked! But our doctor told us that only a small percentage of calcifications turn out to be malignant. Most are totally benign. She just needed regular follow-ups. So don't stress yet.

Beta, earlier we didn't even know these things existed. Now with so many tests. Calcifications sometimes just mean calcium deposits, like in bones. But please, always listen to the doctor. Don't just do ghar ke nuskhe for this, it's serious. Doctor will tell you if it's bad.
