My father had an attack last year, and our relatives suggested all kinds of herbal drinks. But we strictly followed only the cardiologist's advice. The main thing is never skip your blood thinners and absolutely avoid any heavy lifting or sudden strenuous activities until the doctor clears you.

The most important thing is to avoid self-medicating or stopping any prescribed medications like beta-blockers on your own. Do not jump back into your stressful work routine immediately. Let your cardiologist guide you on when it is safe to resume exercise and normal daily physical activities.

Please avoid stressing your mind with negative thoughts or anger during this recovery phase. A peaceful mind helps the physical body heal much faster. Take deep, gentle breaths, eat simple foods, and avoid any rush or worry.

While I only have experience managing chronic metabolic issues, I know how delicate recovery can be. Please avoid sudden heavy physical labor and never make changes to your medicine doses without consulting your doctor first. Take your time to heal gently.

The mental anxiety after a heart attack is very real, and you might feel afraid to even move. Do not isolate yourself or suppress your fears. It is crucial to rest, but also talk to your family or a counselor, and avoid rushing back to work until you feel mentally ready.

Never ignore even a minor chest tightness or breathlessness thinking it is just gas after your recovery. I ignored a small discomfort weeks after my first event and ended up needing another emergency procedure. Go straight to the hospital if something feels off.

Don't assume you can manage this with diet alone; stopping your prescribed medications is a huge mistake. Avoid high-stress situations and don't do any high-intensity gym workouts. Get a clear cardiac rehab plan from your specialist first.

My teenage son had a heart condition that led to a major cardiac event, so I know how scary this is. Please do not let the patient exert themselves or even climb stairs too fast initially. Make sure they take complete bed rest, eat low-salt meals, and stay in a calm environment.

My uncle went through this recently. He was told to avoid heavy Indian meals with lots of ghee and butter, and not to start any running or heavy exercise. Just stick to gentle walking as recommended by your physician and rest as much as possible.

I am six months post-recovery now. My biggest advice is do not start driving or traveling long distances immediately without your doctor's green light. Also, completely cut out smoking and deep-fried foods; it is hard but literally life-saving.
