What mnemonic for stroke?

My cousin just had a stroke, and it was quite sudden. I was thinking about how important it is for everyone to know the symptoms. Is there a common mnemonic or memory trick used to quickly remember the key signs of a stroke, so we can act fast?

The doctors and health campaigns often mention 'FAST'. It is for Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty, and Time to call emergency. This is what we teach our children also to remember. For any such serious health matter, always trust the doctor first.

Everyone is mentioning FAST, that's really helpful! But what if someone has just one of those symptoms, like only slurred speech? Is it still considered a stroke and should we call for emergency? I'm a bit confused.

The mnemonic for stroke awareness is FAST. It represents Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty, and Time to call for emergency medical help. Early detection through this mnemonic can significantly improve outcomes for stroke patients.

Absolutely, the most helpful mnemonic is FAST. F stands for Face drooping (ask the person to smile), A for Arm weakness (ask them to raise both arms), S for Speech difficulty (ask them to repeat a simple sentence), and T for Time to call emergency services immediately if any of these signs are present. Every second counts with a stroke.

I was just looking this up the other day after seeing a public service ad! It's FAST. F-A-S-T. For Face, Arm, Speech, and Time. It's really clever how they made it so easy to remember for a serious condition like that.

It's FAST! And no, it's not about how fast you can eat a full plate of chole bhature! 😂 It's about spotting a stroke quickly. Face, Arm, Speech, Time to call 102. Memorize it, you never know when it might be useful.
