What microorganism causes malaria?

I was watching a documentary about tropical diseases and they talked about malaria. I'm just curious about the specific microorganism that causes it.

Malaria is caused by a parasite, not a virus or bacteria. It's the Plasmodium parasite, which is transmitted through infected mosquito bites. For general health, a good lifestyle and regular checkups are important, but for malaria, preventing mosquito bites is key.

Hello! Malaria is caused by a parasitic microorganism belonging to the genus Plasmodium. It's transmitted to humans through the bites of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes. There are several species, with Plasmodium falciparum being the most dangerous. So, protecting yourself from mosquito bites is the best defense.

Oh, so malaria is caused by a microorganism? Is it a type of virus or bacteria? Or something else entirely? I always thought it was just from mosquitoes directly, not some tiny thing inside them.

Beta, malaria toh chote-chote jeetanu (microorganisms) se hota hai, jinko Plasmodium kehte hain. Yeh machchar ke kaatne se failta hai. Ghar mein machchar na aaye, uska dhyaan rakho. Neem ke patte jalao, ya kapoor jalao, thoda relief milega. Lekin bukhar tez ho toh doctor ke paas jaana zaroori hai.

Don't panic, but it's good to know these things! Malaria is caused by a tiny parasite called Plasmodium. It's spread by mosquitoes. I remember freaking out once thinking every mosquito bite meant malaria, but it's only specific ones carrying this parasite. Just be careful with mosquito protection.
