What measure kidney function?

My husband has some kidney issues, and the doctor keeps talking about kidney function tests. I'm a bit confused about what these tests actually look at. What are the common ways or measurements used to assess kidney function?

Oh, I just went through this! They usually check your GFR (Glomerular Filtration Rate) and also your creatinine and BUN (Blood Urea Nitrogen) levels in a blood test. My doctor explained GFR is the main indicator of how well your kidneys are filtering waste. They also do a urine test to check for protein.

My doctor seems to measure everything these days! For kidneys, they do these blood tests, creatinine, urea, all that jazz. And then they calculate this 'GFR' number. Honestly, just go to the lab, give blood, and let the doc interpret. Too much information for my tired brain!

My elder brother had some kidney issues. They do blood tests, mainly for creatinine and GFR, to see how your kidneys are cleaning the blood. Also, they check urine for proteins. While home remedies can support general health, for kidney function, always rely on proper medical tests and doctor's advice.

Hmm, kidney function, that sounds serious! I know it's about what you eat and drink. My friend told me they check blood and urine. As long as I can still enjoy my momos and chaat in moderation, I'm happy. But seriously, best to ask a doc for proper info.

This is so important! I always get anxious about kidney health. They usually do a blood test for creatinine and then calculate something called GFR, which tells you how well your kidneys are working. Sometimes a urine test for albumin is also done. Please don't ignore any symptoms and get it checked soon!

For kidney function, doctors usually order a KFT (Kidney Function Test) which includes creatinine, urea, etc. It's a standard blood test and not too expensive, usually under 500-700 rupees at a decent lab. Getting it done regularly if you have any risk factors is a good investment in your health.
