What makes you go to sleep?

I've been having trouble falling asleep lately, just tossing and turning. I'm looking for tips to improve my sleep hygiene. What generally helps a person go to sleep easily?

For me, with high BP, a consistent sleep schedule is non-negotiable. I try to wind down an hour before bed, avoid screens, and sometimes listen to light music. It helps manage my stress and BP. Proper sleep is part of my overall health check-up plan.

Been there, struggling with sleep. What works for me is making my bedroom a sanctuary – cool, dark, no gadgets. I also avoid any heavy discussions or stressful work late at night. Sometimes a simple chamomile tea also helps. Consistency is key, even on weekends.

I overthink everything, so getting to sleep can be a nightmare! What helps me is a consistent bedtime, a totally dark room, and listening to some calm meditation music. Also, trying to write down my worries before bed sometimes helps to clear my head a bit so I don't obsess. You're not alone if your mind races.

A good workout during the day, not too close to bedtime, helps me sleep like a baby. Also, making sure my dinner is light and early. If your body is physically tired from exercise, and your mind is not overstimulated, sleep comes easier. But listen to your body and your doctor always.

Oh, getting good sleep is so hard sometimes! So, like, a proper routine helps? Does reading a book really work, or is it just another myth? I find it tough to switch off my mind.

Generally, a dark, quiet, and cool room really helps. Avoiding caffeine and heavy meals close to bedtime is important too. A warm bath can also relax your body. Sometimes, it's just about having a consistent routine to signal to your body it's time to rest.
