What makes liver enzymes high?

My recent blood test showed that my liver enzymes are high, and the doctor just said I need to change my lifestyle. I'm a bit worried and want to understand what could be causing this. What are the common things that make liver enzymes go up?

High liver enzymes mean something is irritating or damaging your liver. It could be alcohol, fatty liver, some medicines, infections, or even hepatitis. It's not something to ignore. Please go to a good hospital and consult a gastroenterologist to get proper tests and a diagnosis.

Ah, high liver enzymes. My friend had this, and it turned out to be related to some herbal supplements he was taking. Often it's something simple like fatty liver due to diet. Don't panic, but do get it checked out thoroughly. The body tells you things, listen to it.

My child had high liver enzymes once due to a viral infection. It can also be from medicines or eating too much junk food, which stresses the liver. Please get proper blood tests done and discuss with a child specialist or gastroenterologist to understand the reason. Early detection is always best.

It can be worrying to see high enzyme levels. Many things can cause it, from diet to simple viral infections. Try to stay calm and definitely follow up with your doctor for proper guidance and tests.

High liver enzymes are a common finding in blood tests, but they always need investigation. Causes can range from mild to serious, like non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), alcohol use, certain medications, or even acute hepatitis. Don't self-diagnose. A doctor will order specific tests to pinpoint the cause and suggest management.

Honestly, sometimes I feel my liver enzymes spike just thinking about all the butter chicken and biryani I eat! 😂 But seriously, too much rich, fatty food, or even too many sweet treats can make your liver work overtime. It's definitely time to get it checked and maybe ease up on the indulgences for a bit!

Liver enzyme tests are usually part of a basic blood panel, so the initial check isn't too expensive. But if they're high, further investigations like an ultrasound or specific viral markers can add up. Best to consult a doctor who can prioritise the most important tests based on your history to avoid unnecessary expenses.
