The itch in eczema comes from the inflammation and dryness that damages the skin barrier. When the skin is compromised, nerve endings become more sensitive. My health tracker reminds me to moisturize regularly, which definitely helps reduce the itch. Also, avoiding triggers like harsh soaps, which I track, is key.
Eczema itch is often related to the skin barrier being compromised, which allows irritants and allergens to get in more easily. When I sweat a lot during workouts, sometimes it can make my skin feel more irritated and itchy if I don't rinse off quickly. Staying hydrated and having a good diet helps maintain overall skin health too.
The itching in eczema is often a manifestation of underlying imbalance and irritation. It's the body's way of signalling distress. Focus on calming your mind, using gentle, natural remedies for the skin, and nurturing yourself with care and love. A peaceful inner state can help soothe the outer discomfort.
I'm trying to understand why eczema is so itchy. Is it just the dryness, or does the inflammation also play a role? Like, does the body release something that makes it itch even more? Just curious about the science behind it.
