What makes arthritis flare up?

My mother suffers from arthritis, and some days her joints are just so painful. What kinds of things usually make arthritis flare up and cause so much discomfort?

My grandad has arthritis, and he says cold, damp weather makes his joints really stiff and painful. Also, if he overdoes physical activity, like walking too much, it flares up badly. So, he tries to avoid both.

I'm just trying to understand more about arthritis. I heard sometimes weather changes or stress can make it worse? Also, is there a link with certain foods? Just curious to know what triggers it for people.

So, stress and weather can make it worse? I heard some people say certain foods can also cause flare-ups. Is that true, or is it different for everyone?

Arthritis flare-ups can be tricky! 😩 For many, it's a mix of things like stress, overexertion, weather changes (especially cold), or even certain foods that cause inflammation. Managing these can really help! 😊

Be careful what you read online about arthritis triggers. While stress or certain activities can make it worse for some, what causes a flare-up is very individual. Always confirm with a rheumatologist, don't blindly follow internet remedies, especially for a chronic condition like this.

My aunt struggles with arthritis, and she says stress is a huge factor for her. Also, not getting enough sleep, or sometimes even pushing herself too hard physically. She finds keeping a diary of her activities and diet helps her identify her personal triggers.
