What magnesium for sleep?

Been struggling to fall asleep properly for a while now, my friend suggested taking magnesium. But there are so many types, which one is actually good for sleep?

Magnesium supplements can be a bit pricey, so you want to make sure you're getting the right kind. I'd say check with a doc first to see if you even need it. No point spending money on something that won't help, na?

Oh god, sleep. What even is that anymore? I've tried everything. Magnesium citrate is what my friend swears by, says it helps relax her. Honestly, at this point, I'd try anything to get more than 4 hours.

For sleep, beyond any supplement, I'd suggest a few minutes of Nadi Shodhana pranayama before bed. It calms the mind so much. Magnesium glycinate is generally considered good if you need a supplement, as it's gentle.

Before supplements, check your lifestyle. Are you exercising enough? A good walk or light workout can really tire you out in a good way. If doc says it's okay, maybe try to add some physical activity to your routine first.

Before supplements, try getting magnesium from food! Lots of green leafy veggies, nuts like almonds and cashews, and even dark chocolate have good amounts. Make sure your diet is balanced first.

I used to panic so much about not sleeping, thinking it's a big problem. But then my doc said my magnesium levels were slightly low and suggested a mild supplement. Once I started, it became normal slowly, no need to stress too much, just check levels first.

A warm glass of milk with a pinch of nutmeg sometimes works wonders for sleep. But if your sleep issues are really persistent, please don't just self-medicate with supplements. See a doctor to rule out anything serious.

Magnesium glycinate is generally considered the best for sleep because it's highly bioavailable and less likely to cause digestive upset. Most docs recommend that one. Just confirm with yours before starting, standard procedure.

Listen, I ignored my sleep problems for too long thinking it's just stress. Later found out it was something else. Please, for your own good, get a proper checkup first. Don't be like me.

I totally get it, struggling with sleep is so frustrating. My doctor suggested magnesium glycinate for me as it's better absorbed and less likely to cause digestive issues. It has helped a little bit.
