What level of hcg indicates cancer?

My wife recently had a miscarriage, and the doctor did some HCG tests. We were discussing results, and I remember him mentioning HCG in other contexts too. I'm wondering, can HCG levels also be an indicator for cancer in some cases, and if so, what level would that be?

Just like with thyroid levels, HCG can be complex. While primarily known for pregnancy, very high HCG levels in non-pregnant individuals can sometimes indicate certain rare cancers, like germ cell tumors or gestational trophoblastic disease. However, it's not a diagnostic tool by itself. If you have concerns, regular tests and doctor follow-up are absolutely essential for a correct diagnosis.

For HCG levels and cancer, it's quite specific and rare. High HCG in a non-pregnant person is concerning and can be linked to certain cancers, but you cannot diagnose based on that alone. As someone who strictly monitors health, I'd say this is definitely a 'doctor only' area. Don't try to interpret it yourself; get proper medical guidance.

HCG is usually about pregnancy, but I've heard from health forums that very high levels in someone not pregnant can be a rare sign of certain cancers. There isn't a specific 'level' that indicates cancer for everyone, but if it's significantly elevated, it warrants immediate medical investigation. My advice is always keep active and eat well, but for these specific markers, only a specialist can advise.

Hey, it's natural to be worried if you're looking at HCG levels outside of pregnancy context. While HCG is primarily a pregnancy marker, abnormally high levels in non-pregnant individuals can sometimes indicate rare cancers like germ cell tumors or certain types of ovarian cancer. It's not a common thing, so please don't jump to conclusions, but definitely get a detailed evaluation by a specialist.

Okay, so HCG is mainly a pregnancy hormone, everyone knows that. But in non-pregnant people, if HCG levels are significantly elevated, like hundreds or thousands of mIU/mL, it can be a marker for specific cancers such as germ cell tumors. It's rare, but it happens. This is a serious indicator, so get to an oncologist if you have such results.

I really regret ignoring some health signs in the past. For HCG, if you're not pregnant and your levels are abnormally high (well above normal non-pregnant ranges, into the hundreds or thousands), it absolutely needs to be checked out for rare cancers like germ cell tumors. Do not delay seeing an oncologist; early detection is everything.

Oh my god, HCG and cancer? This is definitely something to overthink! I know HCG means pregnancy, but I've vaguely heard about it in other contexts. If it's really high in someone who isn't pregnant, like hundreds or thousands, it *could* be a sign for certain specific cancers. It makes me so anxious even thinking about it! So please, please, just go to the doctor for proper diagnosis and support.
