What level of fever is dangerous?

My little one, he's just three, has had a fever since yesterday evening. It's not extremely high, but I'm always so worried about fevers in kids. At what point does a fever become really dangerous for a child, or for anyone, for that matter?

For mild fevers, a cool compress and rest can help. But if a fever goes above 103°F (39.4°C) in adults, or 100.4°F (38°C) in infants, it's a serious sign. Also, if there are severe symptoms like difficulty breathing, stiff neck, or confusion, definitely see a doctor immediately. Don't wait.

My mother always said to keep a close eye on fever, especially with children. For adults, a fever above 103°F (39.4°C) is generally considered high and warrants medical attention. For infants, even 100.4°F (38°C) rectal temperature can be serious. Always trust your doctor, and if you have other concerning symptoms, do not hesitate to go to the hospital.

Time is critical with high fevers. For adults, anything over 103°F (39.4°C) needs immediate medical evaluation. If it's a child under 3 months with a temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher, go to the emergency room. Don't waste time on home remedies for these levels; consult a doctor promptly.

Oh, fever always makes me so anxious! I always double-check the temperature. What I remember is that for adults, anything above 103°F (39.4°C) is a big red flag. And if it's accompanied by other scary symptoms like a really bad headache or problems breathing, you should go to the hospital. Don't overthink, but definitely don't ignore it either!

My doctor emphasized that for adults, a fever exceeding 103°F (39.4°C) is dangerous and requires medical assessment. For children, especially infants under 3 months, a rectal temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher is an emergency. Any fever accompanied by severe symptoms like difficulty breathing, rash, confusion, or stiff neck also needs immediate medical care.

Beta, don't ignore fever, it's the body's way of telling you something is wrong. In my younger days, we just rode it out. But now, with so much knowledge, doctors say if it crosses 103°F (39.4°C) in adults, it's quite high. For small children, even a little fever needs attention. Just take them to the doctor, better safe than sorry.

I once panicked when my son had a fever of 102°F, but the doctor reassured me he was okay after a check-up. But they did say that for adults, if it goes past 103°F (39.4°C), or for infants if it's 100.4°F (38°C) or higher, it's serious and needs a doctor. So don't worry unnecessarily, but do get it checked if it's really high!

As someone managing PCOS, I've learned that listening to your body and getting timely medical help is crucial. For fever, generally, in adults, a temperature above 103°F (39.4°C) is considered dangerous. For young children, even slightly lower temperatures with other symptoms can be serious. Please consult a doctor; it's not something to take lightly.
