What lab test checks liver enzymes?

My doctor said he needs to check my liver function during my annual physical. I'm curious to know which specific lab test they use for that. What lab test checks liver enzymes?

To check liver enzymes, you need an LFT (Liver Function Test) which measures SGOT and SGPT levels. When I went to Kokilaben Hospital for my annual checkup, the doctor explained these levels clearly. I suggest you get the test done and discuss the report directly with your physician.

I think it is called SGOT and SGPT, which are part of a liver test. Actually, my doctor just prescribed this to me because I was feeling very tired. Do we have to do this test on an empty stomach?

Don't go by what people online tell you about liver enzymes. The standard test is a Liver Function Test (LFT) which checks SGPT, SGOT, and ALP. Get it done from a NABL-certified lab and show it to a proper MBBS doctor instead of trying home remedies.

I went through a lot of anxiety last year when my liver enzymes came back high on my LFT report. It turned out to be fatty liver, which was manageable, but those few days of waiting were really tough. Just get the test done, and remember that you can get through this.

Ah, the famous SGOT and SGPT tests! They basically tell you if your liver is angry at you for eating too much butter chicken. Don't worry, it's just a simple blood test, no big deal!

My dad had to get his liver enzymes checked recently, and they did a standard Liver Function Test. It checks things like SGPT and SGOT. It's a quick blood test, and you usually get the results the same day, so don't stress!
