What kind of doctor treats thyroid issues?

My periods have been very irregular lately, and my cousin suggested it could be a thyroid issue. I'm wondering which specialist I should consult to get this checked out properly.

Honestly, I'm so sleep-deprived thinking about doctors, I just go to whoever my mom tells me to. But yeah, an endocrinologist is what they usually say. Just make sure they're good, because my sleep is already messed up!

I just went through this! My GP referred me to an endocrinologist for my thyroid. They ran some detailed blood tests and put me on medication. Feeling so much better now. So yes, an endocrinologist is the way to go.

Beta, for thyroid, you need to see an endocrinologist. Don't worry too much, many people have this issue. My wife also had it, and with regular medication and check-ups, she is doing very well. Just find a good doctor.

Please, don't delay seeing a proper specialist for thyroid. I had ignored my symptoms and it led to some complications later. An endocrinologist is the doctor you need to see. Get it checked properly.

Usually an endocrinologist, right? I'm worried about finding a good one. Did anyone else feel really anxious before their diagnosis or while trying to find the right doctor for thyroid?

I was just looking this up online! It seems like an endocrinologist is the specialist for thyroid issues because it's all about hormones. Good to confirm with others here.
