What joints does psoriatic arthritis affect?

My elder sister has been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, and she's in a lot of pain. We're trying to understand more about it. Which joints does this type of arthritis usually affect the most? She wants to know what to expect.

Psoriatic arthritis, haan, it's quite tricky. It can affect many joints, sometimes even the small ones in your fingers and toes, making them look swollen like sausages. Some people get it in their back too. For managing pain, my grandmother used to say applying warm oil helps, but doctor ko dikhana hi padega for proper treatment.

Oh, Psoriatic Arthritis... I'm not very familiar with it. I know psoriasis affects the skin. So, does the arthritis part mean it usually affects the same areas where the skin condition is, or can it be any joint? And does it come and go?

Psoriatic arthritis can hit almost any joint, but it often starts with the smaller ones, like fingers and toes, or even your spine. It can cause a lot of stiffness. For managing, keeping active with gentle exercises or walks, as advised by a physiotherapist or doctor, is usually helpful, along with medication.

Psoriatic arthritis sounds so scary. Does it always affect multiple joints at once, or can it start with just one? I'm worried about joint pain and wanted to know if this is something I should be concerned about if I only have a little discomfort in one place sometimes. Has anyone else felt this kind of anxiety?

My son has it, and it affects his knees quite badly sometimes, and also some of his fingers swell up. It's not just big joints; sometimes even the Achilles tendon near the heel gets affected. It's unpredictable, so regular checkups with the rheumatologist are a must to manage it.

I was just reading about psoriatic arthritis! It's interesting how it can affect so many different joints. From what I recall, it often impacts the joints closest to the nails, and also the spine and larger joints like knees and hips. It sounds like it can be quite varied for different people.
