What is white line fever?

My friend who plays a lot of sports keeps talking about 'white line fever' before a big match. I'm curious what this actually means and if it's a real psychological thing.

White line fever usually refers to a feeling of extreme anxiety or panic before a competition or a high-pressure situation, not a medical condition. But if you're experiencing actual fever or severe anxiety that impacts your daily life, please see a doctor. I once dismissed a physical symptom and it turned out to be more serious.

Oh, white line fever! It's like that intense nervousness or performance anxiety you get right before something big, like an exam or a sports match. Not an actual fever, just super jitters. Happens to me before presentations all the time, lol.

I totally get it, that feeling of immense pressure and nervousness before a big moment! 'White line fever' isn't a medical term, but it perfectly describes that performance anxiety, often seen in sports. It's your body's stress response. Deep breaths and focusing on the present can sometimes help.

This 'white line fever' you speak of, I think it is more of a feeling, a strong nervousness before a big event, especially in sports. My grandmother used to say, 'mind is strong, body will follow.' But if you feel too much anxiety, better to talk to a doctor or counsellor. They can guide you properly, better than relying just on old sayings.

White line fever? Sounds like what I get when I have to pull an all-nighter for a deadline, LOL. My brain feels like it's on fire. But yeah, people use it for intense pre-game jitters, not a real sickness. If you have an actual fever though, please sleep it off or see a doc!

Oh, white line fever! Don't panic, it's not actually a fever. I remember thinking it was some kind of illness when I first heard it. It's just a slang term for severe pre-competition anxiety or performance jitters, usually in sports. It's quite common for athletes. Just take deep breaths, you're probably just nervous!

Haha, white line fever! Sounds like a fancy disease, but it's just what athletes get when they're super nervous before a game, standing at the starting line. It's not contagious, thankfully! Just a case of the intense pre-game jitters. Relax, take a deep breath!
