What is type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes?

My neighbour was just diagnosed with diabetes, and they said it's 'Type 2'. My father has had diabetes for many years, but I'm not sure if his is the same. Can someone explain the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes?

Honestly, for something as serious as diabetes, please don't rely on random internet remedies or unqualified advice. Type 1 is autoimmune, zero insulin production. Type 2 is insulin resistance or insufficient production. Both are complex. You need to consult an endocrinologist for accurate diagnosis and management. Period.

From a holistic view, Type 1 is an autoimmune imbalance, needing external insulin. Type 2 often arises from lifestyle, where the body's energy system struggles. While medical treatment is essential for both, a balanced diet, mindful eating, and regular gentle movements, perhaps some simple pranayama, can support overall well-being alongside your doctor's plan. It's about harmony.

Type 1 is when your body doesn't produce insulin at all, usually starting younger. Type 2 is more common, where your body doesn't use insulin well. I've seen how quickly complications can arise if not properly managed. Please, for either type, immediate and consistent medical consultation is non-negotiable. Don't wait for symptoms to worsen.

Beta, Type 1 diabetes is like your body forgot to make the sugar-controlling medicine inside. So you need to take it from outside. Type 2, it's more like your body has the medicine, but it's not working properly, or not enough. Both need careful eating and a doctor's advice. Don't worry, just follow what the doctor says, and take care.

It's so much to understand, these different types of diabetes! Type 1 sounds very scary because it's lifelong insulin. And Type 2, it seems so many people have it. Does anyone else get anxious just thinking about all these health conditions? It feels like there's always something new to worry about.

Type 1 diabetes is where your body literally can't make insulin, so you need injections. Type 2 is more about your body not using insulin well. While I always look for natural ways to support health, for something like diabetes, especially Type 1, there's no home remedy; you absolutely must see a doctor and follow their treatment plan. For Type 2, lifestyle changes help, but still, doc first.
