What is the worst pain in the world?

My grandmother keeps complaining about her joint pain, saying it's the worst pain in the world. It got me thinking, what is genuinely considered the absolute worst pain a human being can experience? Like, beyond anything else?

Honestly, the 'worst pain' is super subjective, but medically, things like kidney stones, cluster headaches, or severe burns are often cited. When I go to a good hospital, they always emphasize asking your doctor clearly about pain management options. Don't suffer in silence if you're in severe pain.

It's widely debated, but typically conditions like trigeminal neuralgia, which causes intense facial nerve pain, or severe cluster headaches are considered some of the most agonizing physical pains. Childbirth and kidney stones also rank very high. Emotional pain, like losing a loved one, is a different kind of 'worst'.

Worst pain is the one that prevents you from working and providing for your family. For most people, very sharp pains like a bad toothache, a serious injury, or internal organ pain like stones can be terrible. Practical solution is to not ignore it and get medical help early.

Oh, that's a very intense question. I've heard kidney stone pain is absolutely unbearable. But for me, as someone with PCOS, the chronic pain and hormonal fluctuations can also be quite debilitating, though not comparable to an acute crisis. Every pain is valid, and it's best to consult a doctor if you're experiencing severe discomfort.

Every person's experience of pain is unique, so 'worst' is hard to define universally. However, many people describe kidney stones and cluster headaches as extremely severe. Emotional pain, like grief or betrayal, also leaves a deep mark. What matters is recognizing suffering and seeking appropriate help, be it medical or emotional.

Amma always used to say, 'pain is in the mind, but some pains are truly from the body.' I think the pain of losing a child is the worst, emotionally. Physically, I have heard from many that the pain of kidney stones is unbearable. But for any severe pain, doctor's advice is paramount, don't delay.
