What is the rem phase of sleep?

I'm trying to understand more about sleep cycles because I often feel tired even after a full night's rest. What exactly is the REM phase of sleep and why is it important?

REM stands for Rapid Eye Movement, which is the deep stage of sleep where you dream. Your brain is actually very active during this time, but your body muscles are completely relaxed. It's super important for memory and emotional health.

REM sleep is when your mind recovers. To get more of it, try to avoid heavy meals and intense workouts right before bedtime. Keeping your room cool and dark really helps your body slide into those deep sleep cycles naturally.

I read that if you wake up during REM sleep, you can experience sleep paralysis, which sounds absolutely terrifying. Does anyone else get anxious about this or have you actually experienced it?

With my busy work schedule, I tracking my sleep cycles using a smartwatch. REM sleep usually happens more in the second half of the night. If you cut your sleep short to 5 hours, you are missing out on this vital phase, so try to get at least 7 hours.

Beta, yeh wahi samay hota hai jab hume pakke sapne aate hain aur dimaag ko asli aaram milta hai. Achhi neend ke liye sone se pehle thoda garam doodh pi liya karo, dimaag shant rahega toh sapne bhi achhe aayenge.

I was struggling with extreme brain fog because my sleep study showed I wasn't getting enough REM sleep. Once I cut down on my late-night screen time and caffeine, my sleep quality improved drastically and I finally feel rested.
