What is the outer region of the kidney called?

My daughter had a biology question about the kidney and I couldn't answer it. Can someone please tell me what the outer part of the kidney is specifically called?

I think it's the renal cortex? I get so anxious when I read about body parts. Does anyone else get a little worried about their kidneys sometimes, or is it just me? Just hoping mine are healthy.

Hey, it's the renal cortex! Don't stress too much about all the medical terms. Just remember to drink loads of water every day, and your kidneys will be happy. That's the main thing, bestie!

It's called the renal cortex. My doctor explained that this part contains the glomeruli and tubules responsible for filtering blood and forming urine. He said proper hydration is key to maintaining the cortex's function and preventing kidney issues.

That's the renal cortex. Just like thyroid health, general body awareness is so important. Make sure to get regular check-ups, not just for specific issues, but for overall organ health, including your kidneys.

It's the renal cortex! Sounds like a fancy video game level, doesn't it? 😂 But seriously, just remember to drink enough water so this 'cortex' doesn't get clogged up. Nobody wants a 'game over' for their kidneys!

That would be the renal cortex. My mother always said 'pani piyo, sab theek rahega'. Drinking pure water is indeed a very old and good advice for healthy kidneys and overall well-being. Try to avoid too much outside food.
