What is the fear of sleep called?

My friend gets really anxious at night and sometimes she's even scared to go to sleep. She says it's a specific kind of fear. I was wondering if there's a name for this fear of sleep?

Oh, that's somniphobia or hypnophobia. I actually had a phase in college where I was scared to sleep because of really bad nightmares. It was super exhausting, felt like I was losing my mind. Talking to a counselor helped me a lot, man.

The fear of sleep is called somniphobia or hypnophobia. It sounds really difficult to deal with, I can only imagine. If you or someone you know is going through this, please consider seeing a mental health professional. It's okay to ask for help; these things can be managed with the right support.

Fear of sleep? Ha! I have the opposite, a fear of *not* sleeping, especially with these kids! But yes, it's somniphobia. Sounds serious. If you're going through it, my dear, please don't suffer in silence. Get some help, a good night's sleep is priceless.

That would be somniphobia or hypnophobia. Any fear that disrupts your normal life and sleep patterns needs professional attention. Don't just dismiss it. It's always best to get it checked out by a doctor or a psychiatrist to rule out any underlying issues and get proper guidance. Safety first, always.

It's somniphobia. I went through a period where I truly dreaded bedtime because of intense anxiety and bad dreams. It felt isolating and exhausting, like I was constantly fighting my own body. If you're feeling this, please know you're not alone and it's a real struggle. Professional support can make a huge difference.
