What is the difference between tumor and cancer?

I heard someone talking about a lump being a tumor, but not necessarily cancer. This confused me a lot. Can someone please explain the difference between a tumor and cancer?

This is a very important distinction to understand. A tumor is just an abnormal lump or growth, it can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Cancer specifically refers to malignant tumors that can spread. I had a scare once that turned out to be benign, but it taught me to always get any unusual growth checked by a specialist without delay.

I used to think they were the same, but they are not. A tumor is any swelling or mass. It could be something harmless, like a cyst. Cancer means that mass is malignant and can spread. For any lump, please don't just try home remedies, get it checked by a doctor right away to be safe. It's better to know.

All cancers are tumors, but not all tumors are cancer. Tumors are just abnormal growths.

People often confuse these terms, which is dangerous. A tumor is just a mass of cells. It can be totally benign and harmless. Cancer is when those cells are malignant and can invade other parts of your body. Do NOT trust anything online about lumps or growths; you HAVE to verify with a proper doctor, only they can diagnose this correctly.

From a holistic view, sometimes imbalances manifest as physical growths. A tumor is a physical manifestation, a growth of cells. Cancer is when these cells behave in an uncontrolled, harmful way. Always listen to your body and seek professional guidance. Practicing gentle pranayama can help calm your mind when facing such concerns.
