What is the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke?

During summers, my family always worries about heat-related illnesses. Can someone explain the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke, so we know what to look out for?

I get so anxious during summers thinking any dizziness is a heat stroke. Heat exhaustion is when you sweat heavily, but heat stroke is when the brain gets affected and the body temperature goes extremely high. Please drink lots of water and stay indoors to be safe.

Heat exhaustion makes you sweat heavily and feel dizzy, but heat stroke is a severe emergency where the body stops sweating and temperature shoots up. Drinking aam panna or nimbu paani helps cool down during mild exhaustion. However, if someone has a high fever and is confused, bypass home tips and take them to a doctor immediately.

I totally get how scary the summer heat can be, especially when you feel dizzy. Heat exhaustion is when your body is struggling but still sweating to cool down, whereas heat stroke is a severe crisis where the body can't regulate its temperature anymore. If you see anyone showing signs of confusion or fainting, please get medical help right away.

I was researching this because of the severe summer heat wave. Heat exhaustion involves heavy sweating, muscle cramps, and nausea. Heat stroke is much worse because the body's cooling system fails completely, leading to dry skin and confusion, which is a medical emergency.

I once ignored severe dizziness and muscle cramps in the sun, thinking it was just minor fatigue, and ended up collapsing. Heat exhaustion can quickly turn into a deadly heat stroke if you don't cool down. Please do not ignore these signs, seek medical attention immediately if you feel very sick.

Exhaustion is your body telling you to stop and cool down, while stroke is a complete system failure where body temperature rises dangerously. I only do my outdoor running early in the morning when it is cool to avoid this. If your doctor permits exercising in summer, stick to air-conditioned gyms or shady areas.

Heat exhaustion causes heavy sweating and weakness, while heat stroke is a life-threatening state with high body temperature and mental confusion. As a diabetic, I have to be very careful to stay hydrated without drinking sugary juices. If you notice any extreme symptoms, seek emergency medical care immediately.

I totally understand how terrifying it is to feel dizzy in the hot sun. Heat exhaustion makes you sweaty and cold, but heat stroke actually stops sweating and makes the skin hot and dry. It is a genuine emergency, so please listen to your body and go to a hospital if you feel very sick.
