What is the definition of a stroke?

My elderly mother had a sudden health scare last week, and the doctors mentioned it could have been a 'mini-stroke'. I want to understand what a full stroke actually means. What is the definition of a stroke?

Stroke means when the blood supply to a part of your brain is interrupted or reduced, preventing brain tissue from getting oxygen and nutrients. My mother always said to be careful with BP, and doctors also say high BP is a big risk. It is very serious, so please, if anyone suspects, go to the hospital immediately.

My granddad had a stroke last year, it was scary. Basically, his brain didn't get enough blood because of a clot. He lost movement on one side. It can be really sudden and dangerous. You gotta act fast if you see someone with symptoms.

Listen, a stroke happens when something blocks blood flow to your brain or when a blood vessel in your brain bursts. Either way, part of your brain gets damaged. It's a medical emergency. Remember the 'FAST' acronym for symptoms: Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty, Time to call emergency. Don't ignore it.

A stroke is super serious because it means your brain isn't getting enough blood, which damages brain cells. Maintaining good cardiovascular health through regular exercise, like brisk walking or cycling, is key to prevention. Of course, always consult your doctor to ensure your exercise routine is appropriate, especially if you have existing health concerns.

A stroke is like when your brain's blood flow takes an unexpected holiday! 😱 It's super important to get help fast if someone has symptoms like sudden weakness or trouble speaking. Keep those brain cells happy and healthy! ✨

A stroke is when the blood supply to your brain is cut off, causing brain cells to die. Diet plays a huge role in preventing it, especially managing blood pressure and cholesterol. Eating a balanced vegetarian diet with lots of fruits and veggies can definitely help reduce the risk, but it's not a magic cure.

Hello everyone. I'm a bit confused. So, is a stroke like a heart attack, but in the brain instead of the heart? And can younger people get strokes too, or is it mostly for older people? Just trying to understand more.
