What is the cause of arthritis in the spine?

My father has been complaining about constant pain in his back, especially when he moves. The doctor said it might be arthritis in the spine. I'm curious to know what commonly causes arthritis in the spine; is it age, lifestyle, or something else?

I can only share from my personal experience, not give medical advice. My uncle has spine arthritis, and his doctor said it's mainly due to age-related wear and tear on the discs and joints in the spine. He also mentioned that genetics can play a role. It sounds like a tough condition to manage.

Oh, arthritis in the spine sounds really painful. Is it mostly due to aging or can it happen to younger people too? I get worried about these things as I get older. I've heard sometimes it's linked to inflammation. Does anyone else know more about what triggers it?

Spine arthritis, often called spondylosis or osteoarthritis of the spine, is primarily caused by the natural wear and tear of the spinal joints and discs over time. Factors like age, genetics, previous injuries, and repetitive stress can accelerate it. For management, consistent light exercise and good posture are key, but always get a proper diagnosis from a doctor.

Beta, arthritis in the spine, my elders used to say it's just part of getting older, the joints get tired. It's mainly due to the natural wear and tear on your backbones and the cushions between them over many years. But don't worry too much; nowadays, there are treatments and exercises that can help manage the pain a lot. My neighbor got a lot of relief from physio.
