What is the blood sugar range for type 2 diabetes?

My father has Type 2 diabetes, and we check his sugar regularly at home. I want to know what the normal blood sugar range should be for someone with Type 2 diabetes, both fasting and after meals, so we can monitor it better.

For type 2 diabetes, a fasting sugar level of 126 mg/dL or above, and a post-meal (2 hours after eating) level of 200 mg/dL or above is the diagnostic range. Anything between 100 and 125 fasting is prediabetes. Get a lab test done, don't rely on home finger-prick tests for initial diagnosis.

If fasting is 126 or more and post-meal is crossing 200, it is considered the diabetic range. Please do not worry, our body has immense power to heal. Eat fresh food, keep your mind peaceful, and follow your doctor's path with trust.

If your fasting is consistently above 126 mg/dL, or post-prandial goes above 200, it means diabetes. Don't worry about buying expensive sugar-free organic foods. Just cut down your tea sugar, reduce white rice, and walk daily for 30 minutes after lunch.

Hey! Clinically, we look at fasting sugar ≥126 mg/dL and post-meal ≥200 mg/dL for diabetes. If your HbA1c is 6.5% or more, that also confirms it. It's really common and very manageable, so just get a proper laboratory blood test done and show it to a physician.

Fasting sugar of 126+ and post-meal of 200+ indicates diabetes. Having PCOS makes me very prone to insulin resistance, so I track my HbA1c which should ideally be below 5.7%. If your levels are elevated, please consult a good endocrinologist for a customized plan.

I have lived with type 2 diabetes for 20 years now. The range is 126 mg/dL or above for fasting, and 200 mg/dL or above after food. Let me reassure you that these numbers are just a guide; if you eat simple meals on time and take your doctor's medicine, you can live a long and healthy life.

With my high BP, my doctor always checks my blood sugar too. Fasting over 126 and post-meal over 200 is the typical range for type 2 diabetes. Since high blood pressure and diabetes often go together, please make sure you check your BP and get your kidneys evaluated regularly too.

According to clinical guidelines, a fasting glucose of 126 mg/dL or higher, or a 2-hour post-meal glucose of 200 mg/dL or higher indicates diabetes. An HbA1c of 6.5% or above is also diagnostic. Please consult your physician to interpret your reports correctly and start appropriate management.

My fasting sugar came out to be 130 and post-meal was 210, which I know is in the diabetic range. I am so scared of starting lifetime medications at this age. Did anyone else feel this level of anxiety when they were first diagnosed, and how did you cope?

Fasting above 126 is diabetic, but honestly, with my 3 AM sleep schedule, my morning readings are always all over the place. Stress and lack of sleep spike your sugar like crazy. Make sure you get a good 7 hours of sleep before you go for your fasting blood test!

In type 2 diabetes, fasting is 126 mg/dL and above, while post-meal is 200 mg/dL and above. I monitor my sugars three times a week and have noticed that white rice and maida cause the worst spikes. Be very careful with sweet fruits and fruit juices too, as they can suddenly push you out of range.

When my reports showed fasting at 135, the specialist at Fortis hospital confirmed it as type 2. He advised me not to panic and explained the whole range clearly. Please go to a good hospital and ask your doctor directly instead of trying to self-diagnose based on internet charts.

The diagnostic range is fasting blood sugar ≥ 126 mg/dL, and post-prandial ≥ 200 mg/dL. While these numbers are standard, your individual targets might vary depending on age and lifestyle. It is always best to let your doctor analyze your blood reports and guide you on the next steps.

In our family, we have seen that fasting above 126 and post-meal above 200 is where diabetes starts. Drinking a little bitter gourd (karela) juice on an empty stomach is very good for keeping it in check, but beta, you must always take the doctor's prescribed English medicines alongside.

Fasting above 126 and post-meal above 200 is considered diabetes. You can drink methi seeds water in the morning to help manage it, but if you have extreme thirst, frequent urination, or rapid weight loss, please don't rely only on home remedies and visit a medical clinic immediately.
