What is the best rated mattress for back pain?

My lower back pain has been bothering me for months, especially after sleeping. My physiotherapist suggested getting a new mattress. Could anyone recommend a good mattress that helps with back issues?

Oh, back pain is the worst! I always worry if I'm choosing the right one and making it worse. Has anyone else felt that some mattresses are too firm, and some too soft? I hear memory foam is good, but then I read reviews that it can make you hot. So confusing!

For back pain, this is a very personal choice and also depends on the *type* of back pain you have. It's best to consult an orthopedic doctor first. They might recommend a specific firmness or material based on your spine condition. Then you can choose from brands.

Beta, don't just go by ratings. For back pain, what worked for me was finding something that wasn't too soft or too hard. I tried a few at the store, laid down for a good 10-15 minutes on each. Sometimes the basic coir and foam mattresses are also good if they support your spine well. It's about personal comfort in the end.

Back pain can sometimes be related to other health issues, so make sure you're getting regular check-ups if it's persistent. As for mattresses, a good one is crucial. My doctor always says a medium-firm orthopaedic mattress is generally recommended, but you have to find what feels right for you.

Namaste. While a good mattress can support the body, remember to also practice gentle stretches and pranayama for your back. Many find a medium-firm orthopaedic mattress helpful. It should support your natural spinal alignment. Listen to your body when you try it.

Having dealt with chronic back pain for years, I can confidently say an orthopaedic memory foam mattress has been a game changer. Look for brands that offer a good trial period (like 100 nights). SleepyCat and Wakefit are popular options. Invest in a good pillow too, it makes a huge difference.

Hey! I actually used my sleep tracker data to figure this out! It showed me my sleep quality improved significantly on a medium-firm memory foam. Brands like Wakefit and Sleepwell have good orthopaedic options. Check out their online reviews and trial periods too, that helps a lot!
