What is the best over the counter cream for eczema?

My son has eczema patches that get very red and itchy, especially in the dry weather. We've tried a few creams, but nothing seems to really help. Can anyone suggest the best over-the-counter cream for eczema?

For eczema, you have to be very careful with creams, just like I am with my diet for diabetes. Many creams can have harsh chemicals or fragrances. I would suggest looking for gentle, fragrance-free, hypoallergenic options like those with ceramides or colloidal oatmeal. But for persistent eczema, a doctor should be consulted.

With skin issues like eczema, it's similar to managing BP; consistency and the right approach matter. For OTC, fragrance-free, thick creams from brands like Cetaphil, Aveeno, or Eucerin are often recommended. However, if your eczema is severe or doesn't improve, it's essential to have it checked by a dermatologist for stronger, prescription options.

Yo, I had some eczema patches last year during winters. My doc told me to use a good thick moisturizer, not just any lotion. I remember using Cetaphil DAM or something similar, it was fragrance-free. It helped a lot. But dude, if it's bad, see a skin doc.

Beti, for skin problems like eczema, sometimes a little coconut oil or aloe vera can help soothe it if it's mild. But for a proper cream from the shop, always choose one that says 'fragrance-free' and 'for sensitive skin'. If it's persistent, then show it to a doctor, they know best what medicine to give.

Oh, eczema! It sounds so uncomfortable. I always overthink which cream to use for any skin issue. For eczema, I've heard doctors often recommend simple, thick, unscented emollients. Brands like Cetaphil or Aveeno are usually safe bets, but it's best to confirm with a dermatologist, just to be super sure you're not making it worse.

I once ignored a skin rash, thinking it was minor, and it spread quickly. Don't make that mistake with eczema. While OTC creams like those with colloidal oatmeal or ceramides (e.g., Cetaphil, Eucerin, Aveeno) can provide relief, they might not be enough. If your eczema is persistent or severe, please get a proper diagnosis and prescription from a dermatologist. It's crucial for long-term management.
