What is't spot tb test?

My mother was recently advised to get an 'T-Spot TB test'. I'm not familiar with this test. Can someone explain what it is and what it's used for, exactly?

You are probably talking about the T-SPOT.TB test, which is a blood test used to detect tuberculosis infection. Don't try to interpret the positive or negative results on your own or believe random forum comments. Take the laboratory report straight to a qualified pulmonologist.

Yes, T-SPOT is a highly specific blood test for TB. Since tuberculosis can be tricky and needs proper attention, please get this test done from a reputed lab and show the results to your doctor immediately. Do not ignore even mild symptoms like coughing or low fever.

In our days, we only had basic sputum and skin tests which took time, but now medical science has advanced so much with tests like T-SPOT. Don't worry, even if the test is positive, TB is completely curable nowadays with a regular course of medicine. Stay strong and consult your doctor.

It is basically an IGRA blood test to check if you have TB bacteria in your system. It's much more accurate than the old skin tests. Just get it done from a certified lab like Metropolis or Lal PathLabs and consult a doctor with the report.

T-SPOT TB test ek simple blood test hota hai jo check karta hai ki body me TB infection hai ya nahi. Isme koi darrne ki baat nahi hai, haan. Doctor se mil kar ek baar test likhwa lo aur report aane par unhe dikha dena.
