What is stage zero breast cancer?

My sister's mammogram came back with a finding, and the doctor mentioned 'stage zero breast cancer'. It sounds confusing to me; how can it be 'zero' if it's cancer? Can someone explain what 'stage zero breast cancer' actually is?

I once delayed my routine checkups and really regretted the complications later. Since stage zero means the abnormal cells are completely localized, please get it checked and treated immediately.

Stage zero is the earliest form, meaning it hasn't spread at all. Stay positive, eat healthy foods, and trust that you have caught this at the best possible time.

I was crying for days when I first heard 'cancer' in my report, but stage zero is actually non-invasive ductal carcinoma. It has a nearly 100% cure rate, so please don't panic.

I had stage zero DCIS five years ago and underwent a simple lumpectomy. My tip is to get it treated promptly and keep up with your annual mammograms for peace of mind.

Stage zero matlab ye bilkul shuruat hai, na. Yeh failta nahi hai aur treatment se poori tarah theek ho jata hai, toh chinta mat kijiye.

Listen to me, stage zero is the best possible stage to find it because it is completely contained in the ducts. We will get this sorted out with minor treatment, so stay strong.

My mom's friend had stage zero last year and she is totally fine now. It is basically pre-cancer that hasn't spread, so it's super easy for doctors to treat.

Even though doctors call stage zero 'very minor', hearing the word cancer still broke me emotionally. It is completely normal to feel scared, but medically you are in a very safe zone.
